TODAY’S FIRE FOR TODAY (Leave tomorrow’s for tomorrow)
Walking through the fire is hard! Troubles and turmoil threaten to over take us. As the burden of today’s fire weighs heavy on our heart and mind, we can begin to fret about what tomorrow’s fire will bring us. When we do that, we compound the difficulties of today’s fire without removing any of the burden of tomorrow’s.
WALKING BY FAITH (The Fire Cannot be Controlled)
I struggle with trying to control things and be prepared for what is coming next. In this struggle, I often fall prey to “looking ahead” and trying to “fix” tomorrow’s problems before they get here. Logically I know I can’t fix tomorrow, but it doesn’t keep me from trying. The root of my struggle for control, is because I don’t want to be “caught off guard” by tomorrow’s fire. Sadly, the nature of “the fire” cannot be prepared for or controlled.
STRENGTH AND HOPE FOR TODAY’S FIRE
These scriptures are sources of strength and hope for me. I hope you are able to find hope and strength in these as well.
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”, Philippians 4:13, NLT
“He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.”, Isaiah 40:29, NLT
“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:10-12, NLT
“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”, Isaiah 40:31, NLT
“Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”, 2 Corinthians 12:8-10
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” Psalm 46:1, NLT

Oh so true! Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has its own worries.
I’m guilty, too, of sometimes worrying about how to take care of tomorrow, when today needs all my attention. Thanks for the reminder, Tammy!
It is difficult to not consider the things of tomorrow. This “Walking by faith through TODAY’S struggles” takes much awareness and effort.
Thank you for the beautiful verses :). God IS faithful. Sometimes, we just have to get out of the way and let him do his thing (which often isn’t what we expected).
Isn’t that the case? If we could just remember to stay out of His way!
I love the KJV – “sufficient for the day is the evil thereof.” LOL! Sounds so KJV’ish but it does get the message across, eh?
I LOVE IT!!!
