“BRING ON THE HARD”, said no one ever!
I’ve never met a person who asks God to bless them with the hard of life. Instead, we each long for good days full of joy and blessings. The truth is, we can experience much of God’s goodness in the HARD of life.
OPPORTUNITIES IN THE HARD
Dependence on God
Hard seasons remove our ability to rely on our own strengths and abilities. When self-sufficiency isn’t an option, we learn how to depend on God to sustain us.
God’s Comfort and Peace
During life’s painful seasons, our hearts and minds become fertile soil to receive and recognize God’s comfort and peace. Authentic peace and comfort from God is the only source that reaches the deepest parts of our hearts and minds.
Grows Deep Faith Roots
In an environmental drought, a tree will grow its roots deeper into the ground to satisfy its need for water and sustenance. During personal droughts, our roots of faith grow deep to tap into the living waters of Jesus. Things that would make a person without the ‘deep root system’ topple, prove to leave those with deep faith roots standing when the hard times are over.
Dear God, I thank you that you let me know in advance there would be difficult times. I also thank you for your reminder of the promise of your perfect peace in the midst of the HARD times of life. Help me learn to release dependency on myself and to embrace You as my source. As the hard times coax the roots of my faith deeper into you, let your strength be what carries me though. I thank you for these things. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
